Dal With Palak Mangodi

A dish that you can eat well and feel good about it-deliciously!

List Of Ingredients:

1. Rasatva Palak Mangodi – 1/4 cup

2. Chana dal – 1 cup

3. Ginger-garlic paste – 1/4 cup

4. Tomato – 1

5. Onion – 1

6. Green chilli – 2

7. Rasatva turmeric powder – 1 tbsp

8. Rasatva red chilli powder – 1 tbsp

9. Rasatva Coriander powder – 2 tbsp

10. Rasatva Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp

11. Rasatva garam masala – 1/2 tbsp

12. Rasatva rock salt – As needed

13. Heeng – a pinch

14. Oil/ghee – 1/2 tbsp

15. Coriander leaves (for garnish)

Preparatation Time – 10 min

Cooking Time – 15 min

Servings – 2

Recipe:

1. Take 1 cup of chana dal, wash and soak for 90 min.

2. Take a saucepan, add water and let it boil on high flame.

3. Add 1/4 cup of mangodi in the boiling water and boil for 10 min.

4. Strain the mangodi and keep it aside.

5. Take a cooker, add the soaked dal, 2 cups water, 1 tbsp turmeric powder, 2 tbsp coriander powder, 1 tbsp red chilli powder, rock salt as per taste, mix and cook for 2 whistles.

6. Take a pan, add 1/2 tbsp oil/ghee and heat on medium flame.

7. Add 1 tbsp of cumin seeds, a pinch of heeng, finely chopped onion and saute till golden.

8. Add roughly chopped tomato. Add a little salt, mix and cook for 2 min.

9. Pour the boiled dal, boiled mangodi and add 1/4 tbsp garam masala, mix and cover the lid for 2 min.

10. Switch off the flame and add the chopped coriander leaves.

11. Serve the hot and delicious dal with palak mangodi with steam rice and papad.
